Hello and welcome to my website!
I’ve started this page as a place where people can follow me and my journey to break into the IT field.
A little background on me:
Currently, I am a meat cutter at a local grocery store where I help customers pick steaks and roasts and then cut those for the customer. Overall, it’s a satisfying job, one that I kind of fell into. However, it isn’t one that I want to do forever. I started looking into IT as a field to work in after I built my first PC back in 2019. I decided to look around at how to break into the field and based on what I saw, I started getting my CompTIA ITF+ certification (Just an certificate that you can get to see if you’ll like IT). I passed and I fell in love with IT. So I took the next step and got my CompTIA A+ (cert for help desk level positions). I was SUPER stoked to get it!
I started to look at jobs on Indeed…and was crushed by what I saw. In New Hampshire (where I live) it seemed like every job required the world… (You need 4-5 years experience, know X, Y, Z applications, have a 4-year degree, etc) all of that for a HELP DESK job…so I gave up for 3 years…till just recently. And THAT my friends, is where I am now. Feel free to stick around for the ride. I’ll be posting on my victories and my defeats, (hopefully not many of these.) lessons learned and pearls of wisdom gained.
